"What kind of contract do I have to sign?"

None! Olathe Karate Academy requires NO CONTRACT. Tuition is paid on a month-to-month basis or significant discounts are available for pre-paid tuition. Either way, no long-term contract is required!

"When do your classes meet?"

OKA offers classes 6 days a week for all ages and abilities. Please call or check our schedule for more information concerning designated class times.

"What styles do you teach?"

With traditional Okinawan roots, Olathe Karate Academy offers training in Kenpo, Jujitsu and Weapons including Arnis (knife and stick fighting).

"How often may I attend class at your academy?"

At the Olathe Karate Academy you may come to class as often as you like. We encourage two to three classes a week for maximum results from our program.

"What results can I expect to see from your classes?"

Offering classes for 3 year olds to 70 year olds, OKA strives to meet the needs of each and every student at the academy. Not only will we teach solid & fundamental martial arts, children and adults learn to follow directions, develop listening skills and increase their ability to focus and concentrate. Our PowerFit Kickboxing class is guaranteed to be a workout that will help you lose weight and tone your body!

"Who teaches class at your karate academy?"

With nearly 35 years of Martial Arts training, James R. Palmer (Kyoshi – 7th Degree Black Belt) leads his team of highly skilled instructors. Kyoshi Palmer and his wife, Ashleigh Palmer (Renshi – 5th Degree Black Belt), are the chief instructors of all classes held at the Olathe Karate Academy. Nationally certified, this husband and wife team bring extensive knowledge and expertise to every class.

"What do I need to start taking lessons at the Olathe Karate Academy?"

Nothing! A traditional karate uniform is included with all of our trial memberships and that is all you need to begin your Martial Arts training!
